An upper arm lift is an effective treatment option to tighten the upper arm skin and remove excess skin and tissue.

  • WHAT IS AN UPPER ARM LIFT?

An upper arm lift starts at the elbow and extends to the armpits. Skin aging and possible weight loss reduce the elasticity of the skin, leading to upper arm relaxation. This problem can be eliminated with an upper arm lift. In some cases, the procedure must be combined with liposuction. Sometimes only a liposuction is enough.

  • THE TYPE OF SURGERY TO BE PERFORMED IS DECIDED BY THE PLASTIC SURGEON.
    • In most cases, sagging in the inside of the upper arms occurs with age due to gravity and age.
    • The proportion of flaccidity of the skin and accumulated adipose tissue may vary depending on the patient.
    • For this reason, a possible reoperation can be performed for each patient.

For whom is this operation recommended?

    • For complaints such as flaccidity of the skin
    • Patients with constant weight (middle age group)
    • Non smoking
  • WHAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BEFORE TREATMENT?

    One month before the treatment

The surgeon informs the patient that he should not smoke 4 weeks before the procedure and 2 weeks after the procedure, resulting in faster wound healing. The patient should avoid direct sunlight and sunbeds during these 6 weeks. Medications such as aspirin or vitamin E should be discontinued 10 days before surgery. Also, strict diets should be avoided. In case of an infectious disease (flu), the surgery should be postponed.

    One day before the treatment

Your doctor will tell you from what time you should not eat anything. Please pack comfortable clothes for hospitalization.

    In the morning of treatment

Please do not use body lotion, make-up or face cream after showering this morning

During consultation with one of our plastic surgeons we determine which type of reduction of the upper arms is suitable for you. Liposuction is often used to correct hanging arm tissue.

  • AFTER TREATMENT

    One day after the treatment

You will receive all supporting medicines and garments (corsage) from our team in the hospital. If necessary, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

    One week after the treatment

Please continue to avoid movements that would strain your arms. Try to rest for a few days. Avoid long journeys as well.

    One month after treatment

Most patients experience muscle problems 7 to 10 days after an arm lift operation, so it is important that you take your medication as planned.
